2nd to last shoot and I can’t wait for this one.
When I started researching into the 7 deadly sins and started developing my
ideas into designs, I struggled most with Gluttony, as I didn’t know how I
could correctly portray it. Then I thought I am an artist and I shall give it
my own spin. For the beauty look I kept it quite basic and really concentrating
on the skin to give it a flawless finish, which showed brilliantly on camera.
My model Frankie has amazing bone structure so I wanted to really highlight this,
which worked well against the dim, warm lighting. The hair was quite easy, as I wanted to keep
the focal point on the skin, I straightened the hair and pulled it over to one
side.
For the avant garde look this was quite abit more
challeneging as when I started applying the powders and pure pigments to
Frankie, as she was sat up in the make-up chair, none o the product was
reaching her neck. I didn’t want there to be a massive gap as I knew this
wouldn’t look good on camera so I had to ask Frankie to lie on the floor and I
scraped the products all over her chest and face. As hilarious as this process
was it actually worked and the colours came out really bold and vibrant which
is what I wanted. 
As Frankie’s hair was straight for the first look, this made
it easy for me to start working on the hair for the second look. By sectioning
the hair into sections around the head, backcombing each section and assuring
that the ends of each section where brushed together, I started using my
fingers to manipulate the shape of the hair and started to create a wave
effect. Using pins and clips to make sure the hair was firmly in place, I continued
this process until the hair was perfect. I then used my straighteners to go
along the edge of the hair to make sure I created a sharp, crisp line as I wanted
the waves to really stand out. Once I let the hair set with hairspray, I went
over the edge of the hair with orange shade paint and this really made the
shape POP! Over all I am incredibly pleased with the outcome of these shoots as
I was most anxious about this sin.
